John Ellis John William Ellis - 01/06/1952 London

John Ellis had played with the stranglers prior to Hugh Cornwells departure, but he later took on the other role previously filled by Hugh Cornwell, that of Lead guitar. He was previously a member of the Vibrators and also played alongside J. J. Burnel and D. Greenfield in the Purple Helmets. John is a brilliant musician, in 2000 he decided it was time for him to leave and has now been replaced by Baz Warne.

John has recently released solo material.
